Half Dutch and half Mexican, and I always thought that was a unique combo Named after my Dutch great-great-aunt; nobody pronounces my name correctly, but I’m never offended by it Occasionally a stand-in for my husband’s social media projects at work and was on a billboard once An animal lover and self-proclaimed “cat lady”. I also have the sweetest pit bull ever. A major control freak and have to remind myself to “let it go” frequently All about camping, fishing and hiking and I go on annual kayak trips at Turkey Run Married to someone four inches shorter than me – without heels on A band geek at heart; I played clarinet for seven years, piano for a couple and now handbells in my church choir An avid concert-goer – I go to about 20 concerts a year A person with MAJOR anxiety. Agreeing to be featured here made me dizzy and my throat close up.

Blessed and proud to be the daughter of amazing Puerto Rican parents who I fiercely protect and care for. My mother survived breast cancer and still works at 80 and my father just retired at 83. Born in New York, but very fortunate to be molded and raised in the traditions and values of Puerto Rico, “La Isla del Encanto” An avid fan of wrestling and football (yes, I am a wrestling fan and yes, I know it’s scripted) Mom to my rescue, PJ, and a huge advocate of pet adoptions, as I have been mom to two rescued four-legged furballs. The pain of losing them is unbearable, but the unconditional love and affection is like nothing else. Someone who loves listening and dancing to Spanish music, especially Salsa and Merengue A person who was named after the landlady of the house I was born in. Fully vaccinated – to protect myself, my family, and my community Hopeful that our country and democracy will be able to overcome the challenges of COVID-19 and partisanship divides A boy mom! I might have to shop on the boring side of the clothing store, but nothing beats little boy snuggles A native Ohioan – who spent 11 years in New York, where I learned about good bagels and public transportation, and three years in Baltimore, where I learned about blue crabs and the Orioles A lapsed marathon runner (shockingly after three little boys, I no longer have the time or energy for four-hour runs on Saturdays) From a family of Buckeyes who love to remind me that I am not. I’m actually a Columbia Lion, but still a diehard Buckeye fan! A lover of Spain, in particular Sevilla. I could live on jamón Ibérico and manchego cheese. A reader. The last book I read was Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro, but my tastes are pretty diverse — anything from chick lit to history. An Olympics superfan. Ask me how bummed I was when last summer’s Olympics were postponed and I couldn’t spend half my maternity leave watching Simone Biles, Katie Ledecky and Megan Rapinoe. Submitting a probably unacceptably dated picture – because it’s hard to find a picture you really like!
